Peel away the layers of the onion....the Koch boys are getting exposed,  as they should.

  3. Off topic but I have a suggestion for medical billing.

    Insurance should be abolished.

What people should do is pay for everything themselves. If they did they'd shop for the cheapest procedures and treatments and look for bargans like they do now with dental procedures.

Then when someone has a big expense they should be able to borrow from a government fund, and then pay it back over many years with no interest.

The problem with 3rd party payment is that it only works when 90% or so of the premium payers never take out what they put in.

This is what Obamacare is based on.

Obamacare like all private insurance depends on a whole lotta healthy people joining and never getting what they put in so that a very few people can get what they need and to pay the overhead and profits of the insurance carriers.

That's why the 700 dollar fine was put into Obamacare - to force people to buy a product they don't need and would be better off without.

As things stand now all the people who are healthy are having their premiums raised or are being dropped.

What everyone's looking at is whether all the people, like me, who don't want insurance because we're healthy will join.
If enough healthy people choose not to join the whole thing will collapse.

  4. To the progressives all the 40 million or so of people without insurance is a horror.

But the truth is most of those people, like myself, don't want health insurance because it's not a good deal for us - we'll never get out of it what we put in.

It would be so cool if 30 million people or so simply decide to risk the 700 dollar fine and don't join the system.

That would be so cool - it would expose all of these progressives as the arrogant idiots that they really are.

  5. Okay so my mom needed a dental implant and she showed me a broucher from an upscale implant clinic which charged $12,000 for her implant and did it in one day they said.

Well I shopped around and found a highly reputable practice which took almost three months to complete the implant procedure, but they only charged $3,800.

Of course we chose the latter and now she's fine. Her implant is perfect as far as we can tell.

    1. The more expensive clinic spent a whole lotta money advertising also. They're all over television and hold seminars, etc. That and a lotta other greed is why their prices were so high.

    2. People tell me I'm a good son, but really what choice do I have? Of course I pay for my mother's dental bills and her insurance premiums. She's 81 years old in not in the best of health. I'm glad to pay her premiums. In her case it's a good deal.

    3. All the money I've saved by not buying insurance for myself allows me to pay her premiums. It's that simple.

  7. Dr. P.,
You wrote in a blog past that Bob Woodward was CIA:
So is he playing dumb on face the nation, or just gullible ??
    .
The latter is suspect since he got famous by foiling a POTUS DUE TO HIS CONNECTION.

Certainly he is still in the covert loop??

BOB WOODWARD, WASHINGTON POST: It clearly isn't working, and, you know, we'll see. They've put a lot of people on it, and they promised to deliver. But, again, this connects to this theme of we've got an incredibly powerful government that gets on automatic pilot, and you have people with inexperience who don't know about nuts and bolts questions, people who don't go in and say, "Well, now is this going to work? Let's test it?"
We were talking earlier about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. That was run by Leon Panetta, who was CIA director, who knew to make sure you checked all of the boxes. And they literally had a place where, it was a compound that they reconstructed and they practiced. And we didn't even practice ObamaCare.
