The American Policy of ‘No Negotiations With Terrorists’ Has Finally Devolved! Now a Simple Crime Whereby Criminals/Terrorists Extract Significant Ransoms from Hostages!

A recent article from the NYTimes,  July30, 2014, “Paying Ransoms, Europe Bankrolls Qaeda Terror” by Rukmini Callimachi (posted earlier),  describes in detail what different EU countries pay as an ‘insurance premium’ to Al Qaeda to ‘encourage’ them not to attack any of their respective citizens located anywhere around the world.  In particular,  the article mentions the following countries: Austria; France; Germany; Italy; Switzerland.

Similarly countries in the African Magreb as well as in the Arabian Peninsula—Yemen; Somalia; Saudi Arabia; Sudan; Oman; Jordan, et. al have paid off directly or indirectly all types of terrorist organizations through ‘cut-outs’,  intermediaries, or even ‘unofficial brokers.’  The amounts of money are significant,  ranging up to hundreds of millions to avert,  prevent, or attenuate a ‘hostage situation’.

Now before everyone becomes upset about this apparent violation of a long-standing American Policy of “No Negotiations With Terrorists”,  I have to admit that since I was one of the first senior National Security officials who had developed and instituted this policy in the in the mid-1970’s ,  America, in one way or another has been a major transgressor of this policy.  I will not go into any specific incidents or place the blame on any one administration, since I, too, had to circumvent the policy that I helped to create in order to save countless innocent administrative officials as well as Americans caught by accident in a ‘hostage situation’.

The article really forced me to reconsider what I have long felt and expressed to many of my national security colleagues over the past four decades that the policy had created more problems, wars and unnecessary conflagrations.  The policy really did not have as much of a deterrent effect as many of the TV pundits and so-called ‘academic scholars‘ annunciated.  Many studies had shown that terrorism could be best handled by official ‘police’ work rather than any military efforts, be it pre-emptive or consequential.

Even the Israelis over the past four decades had paid different terrorists groups for one or another reason.  Remember that I have reiterated in many of my past blogs,  that the Israelis have created and funded Hamas as well as other Sunni groups like ISIS.

Yes, the world of terrorism has not set rules—other than use ‘terror’ at will..  and in the case of Israel… AD NAUSEUM!

Then what does the imminent death of this antiquated ‘no negotiation policy’ mean?
Nothing. This policy had lasted a lot longer than I or anyone else,  had ever envisioned.  In truth,  the policy has run it’s natural course and now finds itself within the realm of the monetary imbroglios of international financing and insurance premiums.  Terrorism like most other endeavors in the 21st  century has become a very lucrative business for the so-called ‘experts’ who tell you how to handle ‘terrorism’.   Terrorism has been equally beneficial for the ‘gangsters who understand that taking a hostage is a very profitable enterprise.

Welcome the commoditization of ‘terrorism’.

Remember all the neocons who had created 9/11 both in the Clinton and Bush/Cheney Administrations: Cherthoff,  Woflowitz,  Hadley,  Zalmay Khalizad,  Condi Rice, Richard Perle,  Sandy Berger?  They now all have ‘consulting companies‘ to help Americans and the world to stop,  promote and benefit from the murder, capture and hostage taking of innocent victims.  Talk about creating a “market” for your services!

Now the Clintons and Bushs will run again in 2016 because they know how to protect us from the evils that their own family members created! 
  But no one went to jail.  So, America, think about it.

Just a policy went into extinction and no one was the worst for it ---except--- 3000 innocent Americans in the WTC and 6,000 American soldiers.

Ex-DCI, Greek-American Trojan Horse George Tenet: sodomized by his own lies, cowardness and betrayal to the American people and the CIA. 

Bill Clinton,  himself a CIA asset, appointed Tenet, a garrulous, narcissistic, egregiously “incompetent” senate staffer to become the Director of the CIA from July 1997 to July 2004 [Bush/Cheney administration].  The fact that Tenet was bereft of any formal training in statecraft and only had less than impressive credentials from the CIA recruiting school –Georgetown University—somehow qualified him to become the Director of the CIA--once the bastion of Yale, WASP tenure and OSS legacies.

Unlike many of us,  who had trained under a far more intensive CIA sponsored MIT School of Political Science/International Relationship and gritty ‘field experience’ under duress and different crises situations,  Tenet was the Greek Comedic version of the Tragedian Fool--- effete; ‘sucker up’ that climbed the greasy pole of CIA politics.

He in turn anointed another somewhat “effete” high-pitched voiced,  Irish Catholic toady, whom by now we all know for his false OBL raid, and Benghazi coup against Gen. Petraeus—none other than, Choirboy John Brennan; another non-covert operative selection.

It seems that most incompetent US Presidents who know very little about the real CIA are afraid to pick a William Colby or Richard Helms; both distinguished DDOs—covert operatives –to become the Director of the CIA [DCI]. 

Well now with time and perseverance, you, the American public, have finally succeeded in forcing Madame Diane Feinstein [D-Calif],  Chairman of the Senate Foreign Intelligence Committee to ‘investigate’ and ‘possibly‘ indict Tenet,  J. Cofer Black [Director of Counter Terrorism in the CIA] as well as two hundred other CIA operatives “for lying to the senate about their non existent torture program” as well as “hacking into the senate staffer’s computers to change the outcome of this major senate investigation into the CIA torture program.”

Just when all of us were about to give up hope that no one would be asked about the CIA contrived 9/11 stand down and subsequent expansive bullshit terrorism war,   Diane Feinstein suddenly pops up and says, not so fast CIA!

The July 25, 2014 article in the NY Times, by Mark Mazzeti, entitled “Ex-Chief of C. I. A Shapes Response to Detention Report”,  has thoroughly examined how this Greco-American bootlicker,  George Tenet,  beset by cowardly self-preservation instincts after he ordered the cold blooded assassination of 3000 innocent Americans in the World Trade Center and then proceeded to facilitate the slaughter of two thousand more Americans in the ersatz Iraq War, is now running scared.  Yet this guy Tenet who made up the false intel to justify the invasion into Iraq is trying to intimidate the senate, white house and his former colleagues in the CIA to dismiss any possible charges of willful murder. 

Clearly, America, TENET  is culpable for what he had done in 9/11 in addition to falsifying the intelligence reports of WMDs in Iraq at the behest of Bush/Cheney.  But , like all COWARDS who have killed innocent American PEOPLE en masse,  he was decorated by the equally culpable Bush Jr and then received countless offers to enrich himself at the expense of the American taxpayer---including serving with Palantir Technologies a  silicon-valley creation which went public then private.

Important: Americans continue to demand that our legislators investigate the CIA and other so-called ‘secret agencies’ like the NSA,  we can find some very interesting facts about our tax funded, bloated government agencies.

[2] The report is expected to “ACCUSE TENET and FORMER CIA OFFICIAL OF MISLEADING CONGRESS AND THE WHITE HOUSE ABOUT THE PROGRAM AND ITS EFFECTIVENESS”… and folks here is the Sword that cuts the Gordian Knot—“but it is Mr Tenet who might have the most at stake” [no shit!]

[3] “And Tenet [who refused to be interviewed for this article; normally he has “diarrhea of the mouth”] IS RELYING ON HIS CLOSE relationship with Mr Brennan to keep him “apprised”  [ a fancy word for ‘changing and deep sixing’] as the report moves through a glacial declassification process.

BTW so not only do we get this Greek fool in as a CIA culprit but then Bush Jr [along with brother Jeb’s approval] anoints two other losers—Porter J. Goss [Yale] and Gen Michael Hayden as CIA Directors.   In time,  we will all eventually extract the carcasses of the culprits of 9/11 and the Iraq/Afghanistan Wars.  But it will take time, patience and hard work.

“While former CIA officials may be working to hide their own past wrongs,  there is no reason BRENNAN OR ANY OTHER CURRENT CIA official should help FACILITATE THE DEFENSE OF THE INDEFENSIBLE”,  said Christopher Anders, senior legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union.

Senator John Walsh:  A Democrat from Montana and a Major Disgrace to:

[1] The US Military [2]  US Army War College, Carlisle, Penn. [3] U.S Code Of Honor [4]  U.S. Senate  [5] Montana and finally, [6] Democratic Party.

NY Times skewered the Montana Democratic Senator for lying his whole life as a military officer,  statesman and Adjutant General of the Montana National Guard.  The article (posted earlier) brilliantly explains, in meticulous detail, just how much plagiarism John Walsh committed throughout his 30 military history.  He was promoted up the ranks based on his Master’s Degree from the U.S. Army War College, for which he wrote a ‘brilliant thesis’.  Needless to say this so-called ‘brilliant thesis’ was ‘completely plagiarized’ by John Walsh, a sad excuse of a Army Colonel.

Senator John Walsh climbed up through the political and National Guard system not on his merits but rather on his ability to continuously plagiarize other people’s work.  He obtained a promotion to “Adjutant General of the Montana National Guard” and then gets appointed to replace Max Baucus as U.S. Senator. 

Why can I condemn this man so vehemently?

For the simple reasons that as a veteran;  a former yearly lecturer at the National War College at Ft McNair, Wash. D.C for over twenty years;  an ex-resident of Bozeman, MT;  as well as someone who knew and admired Sen. Max Baucus,  I find John Walsh to be a complete DISGRACE to everything that I value—honor; military service;  integrity [both personal and professional]; and legislative representation.

How did John Walsh get away with such sociopathy?

He is by history and habit a cowardly individual who when confronted with his ‘plagiarism’ resorted to the most pathetic excuse possible:

His aid responded: ”Mr. Walsh had been going through a difficult period of time when he wrote the paper….one of the members of his unit in Iraq had committed suicide in 2007, weeks before his assignment is due….”  With no concern for the truth or INTEGRITY,  this aid offers this improbable scenario where the poor, pathetic, psychologically damaged Walsh was able to plagiarize in detail all 14 pages of his thesis!  Talk about the old PTSD made me do it! WOW!!

I have heard a lot of different diagnoses for PTSD.

But PLAGIARISM as an outcome of PTSD??  I am giving the ‘Bullshitter’ Walsh the benefit of the doubt here—this is a new neurological/psychiatric phenomenon.  On the other hand, when I step back a moment, why shouldn’t the Democrats have equal representation in the senate in the ‘flaming sociopath’ category?  John Walsh can join Dianne Feinstein and Ted Cruz,  Marco Rubio,  who inhabit the Senate and force us Americans to pay ridiculous taxes for their collective well-being.  Remember we pay these members of the Sociopathic Party a minimum of $174K annually with close to a $1M in staff support and don’t forget those retirement and health benefits!  

Now, let’s wait to see what happens.

The Melrose Café:  The Legacy of a Quiet American Hero-Dale Bassett [1939-2014]!

On Florida State Road 21,  spanning the wooded, water-logged acres between the Metropolis of Gainesville, Florida [home to the Univ. Of Florida] and Keystone Heights, there is an unobtrusive building with an obtrusive sign announcing the day’s menu of “Pork Chops”,  the Melrose Café resides as the center meeting place for the denizens of an unincorporated town of Melrose.

Nothing really distinguishes the town from any other place in Central Florida,  other than the fact that it has no official body of governance; no police station; and no fire department.  In many ways,  one could consider Melrose a Libertarian paradigm of excellence; or equally valid, the Liberals’ dream of complete freedom and social acquiescence. In either case,  the Melrose Café was the de rigeur meeting place for those who held all types of political views,  as long as they expressed them civilly; and those  hard-core Red Necks who valued their suped-up Ford Pick-up-trucks with their fanciful gun-racks.  In other words,  Melrose Café was a representation of America.

The only requirement to order the meal of the day was the ability to understand that grits would accompany any meal and that the waitresses could be very polite until you might have thought for a slight moment that you could cop an ‘attitude’.  Then all-hell would break out.

The man who created this oasis of Americana was Dale Bassett,  along with his charming wife of fifty years, Carol.  Both had ventured into the American entrepreneurial world many decades before when Dale, a Jacksonville, Florida native,  decided to sell his successful insurance brokerage house and present his wife Carol with the realization of her long- time dream: a café that both could run in their senior years.  The dream came true.

Yet like all American dreams,  first uttered in a moment of passion,  it took years of hard work, sweat, and tears to make this forty person café an established institution to which the cynical,  Libertarian/Liberal denizens of Melrose would frequent on a daily basis.  Let it be known up front that Dale understood that with limited resources,  he could  at best,  serve only breakfast and lunch.  On special occasions,  he might venture to offer another meal, but that was infrequent.

From my narrow perspective of acquaintance,  I met Dale and his wife, Carol, about one year ago when I first moved into Melrose.  I discovered the town thanks to the misadventures of a pig, named Francis, whom my wife transported to Rooterville,  a pig sanctuary.

I came to know Dale,  as best as one could know the “Quiet American”,  as he and Carol were perusing their daily accounts over a table near the front of the café.  I suggested in a half-sarcastic way that ‘numbers lie and liars use numbers’.  Dale agreed.  He assured me that he understood the nature of numbers and what they truly represented as he assured me that in his former life he had been an insurance underwriter for all types of businesses,  especially medical practices.  Whether his comment was fortuitous or calculated,  to this day I have no idea why,  but I immediately engaged in a discussion where I explained my previous travail with medical insurance when I had practiced psychiatry.  And before you could annunciate the DSM IV criteria for  sanity and sobriety,  Dale expounded on his experience with one of his clients, a practicing psychiatrist who had garnered over three million dollars a year in revenues.  I was astounded.  I had explained to Dale that at 45 minutes a therapeutic session,  it was hard for me to conceive of how anyone could make that kind of money on what he and I agreed was essentially ‘bullshit’.

From that day onward,  we would engage in sporadic conversations ranging from world events to the problems of running a small business, replete with personnel, taxes, and cash flow issues.  For the most part,  the conversations to an outsider listening in to what we had to say to each other,  may have appeared ‘mundane’.  But to me, a serial entrepreneur,  Dale had exemplified the best and brightest of America---the small business owner.

Dale had taken a risk to make a dream come true.  He earned his way in the business of food and service, not through going to the Cornell School Of Hotel Management, but through ‘trial and error’.  I would see him and Carol bent over the end-of-the-days’ receipts discussing where he could or could not save a penny here or there.  He was the epitome of what I considered the best of America –the small business owner – who on a regular basis persevered through the trials and tribulations of daily problems of running any type of business: inadequate, inappropriate staffing; change in menus; maintaining consistent quality control so that the customers would come back, again and again.  He did not run a ‘fast-food franchise’.  He didn’t use gimmicks,  his food was consistent.  He created what on the surface appeared to be the most of all mundane creations—a cafe,  really a ersatz diner , serving only breakfast and lunch.

In a time when the cauldron of history is boiling over with wars and conflagrations all over the world, the Melrose Café, on Route 21,  is a  sanctuary of sanity and reality.

I go there every day with my two dogs, Bonnie and Basel, my wife, not to eat my three hard boiled eggs with ketchup, but to talk to the “Quiet American”, my hero.  He died last week. But his wife, Carol, and his younger son, Michael will continue the traditions of maintaining a small business in Melrose, Florida. 

I salute you,  Dale,  on behalf of all we Americans who have to fight the inglorious battles of quotidian life, day in and day out.

 The Russian Play of Purges:  Putin,  Please Exit Stage Right!

For some time now,  the Russian economy has been in serious trouble.  The GDP  growth is close to zero.   Obama’s Economic Sanctions have been working,  causing the Ruble and the major Russian stock market indices to lose their respective values by close to fifty per cent.   Over $80 BILLION  in flight capital has left the country to ostensibly safer overseas financial havens.  However,  the most significant fact in all of these numerical indicators is that the price of oil,  Russia’s primary export,  still remains at the all time high of  $100 per barrel.

The recent conundrum regarding the Malaysian Flight17 may well indicate that Putin had ordered his military proxies in Ukraine to strike down a flight at a convenient time.   What this action shows is that Putin has become desperate to maintain his tenuous position among competing civilian,  intelligence and military coteries in the Kremlin.  Brutality is a fact of life for Soviet/Russian leaders.   Lenin was ruthless despite the palaver of ‘united fellowships’ and such inane concepts.   Of course, Stalin, his Georgian successor,  thought nothing of slaughtering 10 million Ukrainian Kulaks in 1933 for not agreeing to collectivize their private agricultural holdings.  Later the world realized that another 20-30 million Russian civilians/soldiers died in WWII.  Next Khrushchev,  who was the main ‘butcher of the Kulaks’ was portrayed in the west as sagacious, if not shrewd Soviet apparatchik.  He was completely nefarious,  despite efforts later on to resurrect his political image.  In this theater of Russian leaders and their subsequent purges from the Kremlin always begins the same.  We see the player’s connivance and political ruthlessness which allows them to ‘climb the greasey poll of politics/power’. 

However,  if the Soviet/Russian economy did not improve,  the leaders were unofficially placed on notice that their tenure would end in short time.   I think that Putin’s desperate actions in Crimea and Ukraine telegraph the fact that he is in dire straits.  Internally,  his three different domestic and foreign intelligence services –FSB[ex-KGB], GRU[Military Intelligence] and the SVR [foreign intelligence service] have all been competing for prominence in the Kremlin.

Clearly a certain amount of internal competition is to be expected in any diversified intelligence bureaucracy.  Yet it appears that Putin, ex-KGB, may have lost control of the different services which are in fact suffering from the economic slowdown and international isolation.  When that happens, the game of musical chairs in the Kremlin becomes more ‘fast and furious’.

Who would be next in line after Putin?
Usually the men who dominate the Ministry of Defense or one of the competing branches of the Intelligence would displace Putin.

For those of you (me included) who thought that Obama’s administration had been dormant in foreign policy,  I ask you to consider this fact:  Internal regime change of any country overseas does not happen by accident.  Please turn your attention to our Intelligence/Military community that has undertaken a strategy of ECONOMIC WARFARE and AGITATION PROPAGANDA to initiate the eventual exit of Putin from the Russian theater of action.  Consider the exit of our own Presidents from their respective positions of power—JFK, LBJ, Nixon—Get it?
There are no accidents in the world of American intelligence.   I invite you to enjoy the last acts of Putin’s theater of DESPERATION.   Let’s see who replaces him. 

Remember: no one enters or exits any political stage, without our American IC orchestrating the particular scenario –one way or another.

The Winners in the Israeli Invasion of Gaza Are: USA And Iran!

As stated in previous posts,  Iran and America will renew Trade/Oil/Nuclear Agreements.  Iran [Shi’ite] and Turkey [Sunni]  will “De Facto”  dominate the Middle East.  The Major Losers are Israel and Saudi Arabia!

As one might imagine,  I received countless protests about my last blog criticizing Israel as morally repugnant for their incursion into Gaza.   I wish it were just so,  morally repugnant but I actually think the decision to invade Gaza was even more horrible. For a state that allegedly has ‘massive brain power’ as the Great American Fakir of Business,  Warren Buffet declared about Israel,  how did they fall so easily into a geopolitical trap set up by Iran…. and the Obama Administration?

From my previous blogs,  many of you could assume that Israel would use brain power to figure out that Iran,  shipped missiles to Sudan, and into Egypt through the tunnels into Hamas.  Israel knew this yet could not or would not interdict.

In addition,  Saudi Arabia also loses in this BOLD OBAMA GAMBIT to ally U.S. interests with IRAN.

How?

Saudi Arabia, often portrayed as a historical enemy of the Jews and Israel in particular,  is nothing of the sort.  Saudi Arabia has been a very close and important ally to Israel throughout their collective histories.  Let me just say that the 9/11 Stand Down was assisted by Saudi Arabia, Israel, Pakistan and of course, our favorite American Neo Cons.

What will happen to this British created, ersatz potentate called, Saudi Arabia?

Its oil interests have been depleted by the British/U.S. corporations and like a used up old whore,  the potentate will be kicked to the curb..metaphorically speaking.
In this newly created power vacuum which countries will dominate the Middle East?

In my humble opinion,  which I have spouted for the past several years: IRAN will represent SHI’ITE interests in the Middle East and TURKEY will represent SUNNI interests from Mesopotamia onward.   The reality is that the Iranians/Persians and the Turks /Ottoman Empire have both existed for centuries and they will continue to dominate the region for a few more centuries.  Call it the historical or geopolitical imperative or call it fate.   Whatever you call it,  these British/French post WWI creations –Israel, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, UAE … will border on extinction and eventually succumb to their fate.

Therefore Jordan,  Qatar,  Sudan, Yemen, UAE, will play the role of minor powers to manipulate and spin events in the region until the USA and others [probably Russia/China] will determine what to do with them.  Such are the games of State,  I just call them as I see them.

Once Again, The Intelligence Theater Of The Absurd: Malaysian AF 17 “Shot Down With Missile” Over Ukraine  As 70,000 Israeli Soldiers INVADE GAZA IN A NEW WAR!!

In the world of intelligence there is one SACRED RULE nothing happens by accident!  Like psychiatry,  intelligence speaks most loudly in the interstices of SILENCE –what is not said and not what is in the verbal diarrhea of media,  Tv pundits and histrionic articles about kids killed on board a plane.   Remember:  You are supposed to forget that 1800 innocent Palestinians have been wounded and close to 300 killed in a gratuitous slaughter of  people in Gaza by Israeli forces.  You are supposed to be distracted!

Now what do I mean?

When countries are afraid or unwilling to intercede in an imminent war,  like that of Israel constantly fixated on destroying it’s own creation –HAMAS—then a new narrative must be created by the various countries to avoid their inherent responsibility to pre-empt this impending war.   The narrative creators, various Intelligence services including the CIA, FSB, Mossad, Dutch intel and Malaysian ‘pimps’,  have constructed a phantasmagorical plot that once again involves yet, another, “mysterious Malaysian Airline” like the former disappearing one that CNN obsessively described for over one month.

What is the evidence for my assertion?

[1]  Once again,  CNN in the person of the effete CIA operative Anderson Cooper brought on board for our viewing pleasure a new character whom I call “Major Mudd’, in real life a 25 year veteran of the CIA/FBI [which one are you? Or does the CIA admit they use the FBI as a ‘cover’?].  This Major Mudd explains the intricacies of HUMINT, ELITN, SIGINT, and even has the intercepted NSA recordings of “Russian Separatists BOASTING ABOUT THEIR ACHIEVEMENT WITH THEIR MISSILE STRIKE”. 

How convenient!

[2] Then we have the dependable histrionic professional POW,  SENATOR JOHN McCAIN blustering about ‘serious consequences‘ against the Russians.

 Of course, no mention was ever made about ISRAEL’S DECLARATION OF WAR IN GAZA!!  That’s irrelevant to the former ISRAELI BOUGHT presidential candidate.

[3] Then Six of the Major Articles in the formerly esteemed NYTimes and Washington Post are about the missile,  airplane routes of Ukraine, even a touching story about a girl and her doll on the Malaysian Airline !  Yet only one minor article on the 70K man invasion into Gaza!   That’s amazing editorial assessment.  A possible airline downing takes precedence over an  actual gritty dirty war in Gaza involving hundred of thousand innocent lives and 300 children already dead.  Only the Wall Street Journal,  usually pro-Israel, wrote in an extensive,  detailed piece on the IDF INVASION.

[3] Yet the most revealing piece of intelligence deception was a STRATFOR REPORT by the founder and chairman of Stratfor [CIA CUT-OUT] GEORGE FRIEDMAN describing in the most obtuse,  convoluted sophomoric logic ever created by a HUNGARIAN JEW how the Malaysian Airline downing and the Israel incursion reflected “geopolitical imperatives”.

 Absolute and complete nonsense for which I pay $350 a year [but that’ s my prerogative].

[4] Then to top of the Absurd narrative, we have WHO researchers on their collective way to an AIDS conference in Australia by way of Kuala Lampur, Malaysia who were killed in this sad ‘Malaysia tragedy’.  BTW, Bill Clinton is the GUEST SPEAKER at the AIDS CONFERENCE. 

How convenient!

I am shocked,  Rick, ‘this is a Casino!’ here in Casablanca.  I will round up the usual suspects and please give me my 40,000 Francs. 

Now why would Russia, USA,  Israel,  Malaysia and Holland collaborate on this type of nonsensical narrative?
Because each country has something to gain from avoiding condemnation of Israel and helping to create another Malaysian fairy-tale.

▪ USA does not want to interfere with Israeli attempts to curb Hamas.  American overtures for peace have failed and have embarrassed this administration. Also the USA owes Israel for their help in the 9/11 ‘stand down’ which killed 3000 plus innocent Americans at the World Trade Center.

▪ Russia,  as I have mentioned in the previous blog,  has very close relations with Israel and Lieberman [Israel Minister of Foreign Affairs] and they seek help from Israel with Syria, ISIS [Israel funds them]; and allows Russia to enter the Middle East, ass-backward.

▪ CIA, FSB, GRU and MOSSAD all like to work together  at one or another time. Very convenient.

▪ Holland—Now here is the one country that has always hidden behind a Jewish Myth—The Anne Frank Story --nonsensical story used to cover up Holland’s persecution of the JEWS IN HOLLAND [93 % of all Dutch Jews were killed by the DUTCH not the Nazis].  The Anne Frank story was used to cover up WAR CRIME COLLABORATIONS BETWEEN HOLLAND AND THE NAZIS.  This WWII travesty will be elaborated in another blog.

▪ Malaysia of all the East Asian countries that can ‘pimp and prostitute’ itself for money—no country can beat the MALAYSIANS.  When I was DAS for EAST ASIA,  I remember another medical doctor,  Dr Mahatir, who was a brilliant, manipulative extractor of favors ‘granted and received’.

With respect to prostituting itself for money—Malaysia’s Genting Group wants favorable treatment in Miami,  NY State, Pennsylvania in order to continue to develop  MAJOR GAMBLING CASINOS all over the USA.  BTW,  the Genting Group in addition to running horse tracks, casinos and cruise-lines are notorious for being the drug runners of the world.

So I have presented to you,  a background scenario which in my mind co-opts the nefarious narrative offered by the world wide media about some ‘real’ or ‘mythical’ Malaysian Airline which conveniently was shot down the same day that the Israelis invaded and slaughtered innocents in Gaza.   Just like a skilled pick pocket or other criminal creates a “distraction” so you will not notice the REAL CRIME that is being committed.  Israel knew from the beginning of the creation of Operation Dome that it would be in constant strategic tensions with the “terrorist” group it created –HAMAS—in order to test,  refine and develop new weapons systems for the world-wide consortium of military industrial juggernauts eager to acquire the latest KILLING MACHINE.

What is a few hundred if not thousands of Palestinians, or Israelis or Jews,  Muslims, Christians killed in the act of war?   When war can give you the Miracle Weapons: drones, SDI, disease warfare, chemical weapons that command high profit margins!  Greedy cowards and political elites worldwide will create all kinds of stories if it serves their purpose of economic, geopolitical and intelligence self-aggrandizement.

Hitler said it best when he decided to exterminate the Polish Jews, Slavs, Homosexuals, Gypsies,  “Who remembers the Armenian Genocide of 1.2 million Armenian women,  children all killed on the Death March from Turkey to Alleppo, Syria?“

Or maybe I should paraphrase Stalin,  One death on a mysterious airplane is a tragedy but thousands of deaths in Gaza and Israeli are merely statistics!

Tragedy is sensational,  worthy of headlines!  Statistics are boring and not newsworthy.  Historical amnesia and indifference are the greatest palliatives for national greed fed with nefarious deeds.

Where is the Universal Moral Outrage Over the Conflict between Israel-Hamas?  U.N.-Failed.  US Diplomacy-Failed.  EU Diplomacy-Failed.  Gulf Council Of Arab States—Failed. Egypt [Sisi]-Failed. Russia- Failed. Iran-Failed.  

In these past few weeks, any type of diplomacy as well as the legitimacy of the United Nations has been shown to be complete FAILURES!  Nothing can condemn the immoral actions of both Israel and Hamas in this orgy of rockets, airstrikes and body counts like the U.N. could have/should have… HOWEVER,  the ineptitude of this world-wide institutional body really becomes obvious as it absents itself of any attempt to intervene effectively in this ‘imminent holocaust of innocent carnage’.

Shame on the UN and it’s Secretary General,  Ban Ki-Moon [South Korean],  who has failed to intercede in both the Ukraine-Russian conflict and the Israel-Hamas conflicts.  In my last blog,  I formally dismissed American intervention into the Israeli-Hamas conflict because we Americans have fostered and nurtured the adolescent state of Israel for too long.   As an enabler we have lost any credibility other than the fact that our congress had voted to increase funds for the IRON DOME [bizarre].   Americans are bereft of any competency in the White House or State Department. That’s a sad fact but a poignant reality. 

Even more disturbing is the fact that for decades we Americans have been funding a crippled, corrupt and completely dysfunctional institution called the United Nations.  For the most part, many of us in the national security area have known that the UN was primarily a defunct institution with pretenses to initiating effective interventions in different world-wide conflicts.   Translation:  waste of money and NY real estate!

As Ambassador John Bolton has often warned, “the UN is completely dysfunctional”.   Ironically,  Ambassador Bolton was instrumental in funding my efforts to initiate a UN intervention in Cambodia in 1991.   But that was a long time ago.   And then, we, Americans , had to effective national leaders—Bush Sr and James Baker [Sec State]. But those days  are now simple fond memories.

What present organizations or countries could stop this ignoble conflict between Israel-Gaza?

[1]  Iran.  It has provided both the members of Hamas/Hezzbollah with the necessary rockets and training to affect this ‘terrorist act’.  What stops them from intervening? 

They want to place pressure on Israel to negotiate a fair treaty with the Palestinians.  But the Iranians know this will not happen.  So they are happy to simply create a ‘strategic tension’ through psychological warfare on Israel.  Not a very smart move on the Iranian part. This type of intrusion will certainly backfire on them eventually.

[2]  Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, UAE—why not intervene? They have much to lose if the conflagration spills over the borders and enters into their hegemony.  They basically hope that Israel can act as a proxy for their Sunni interests against the Shi’ite supported Hamas.  This attitude will also eventually ‘blowback’ on them. Qatar will lose any small leverage it has from having helped supply Hamas.

[3]  Russia.  This is the one country that has the most to gain from intervening in the Middle East.  Putin has tried to place pressure on the USA around Ukraine, Poland, and Romania.  But an end run into the Middle East where Russia already supports Syria, Iran and ISIS, allows Putin to re-enter the Middle East at a MINIMUM COST.

If I were Putin and I watched how the international community was paralyzed with fear, apathy and worst yet, indifference,  I would initiate a call for CEASE FIRE between Israel and Hamas.  Both the Israelis and Hamas have very strong latent ties to Russia---culturally, politically, economically.

Recommendation:  Kerry, stay home!  please stay out of the way, and let PUTIN ENTER THE MIDDLE EAST.   Ban Ki-Moon, please resign!  You are a complete embarrassment to the idea of world peace.

  As for the United Nations,  lets raze it and as the Rockefellers decided when the UN was first built half century ago in NYC,  let’s build expensive condos so that the ineffective leaders of Hamas, Israel, Middle East  can all use their Swiss Bank Accounts to buy more protected assets in the USA.

For the Polish Jews of the Diaspora,  like myself,  the bombardment of Gaza reflects the distant yet painful memories of my family’s destruction in the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII.  For that alone,  I will utter the words of the Kaddish,  the Mourner’s Prayers,  for all those who died on both sides of the Arab-Israeli divide.  There is a moral imperative for all sides of this war to cease and desist IMMEDIATELY.   If not,  the legitimacy of the State of Israel as Jewish State will be in question; as will the viability of Hamas to become a real representative of the Palestinian people alongside of the PLO.   History,  as brief and amnesiac as it is,  will determine their collective fate.

The American Spy Who Came Out of the Cold—Thrown Out Of Germany—Congrats to the CIA Station Chief Whomever You Are!

Many of you may have heard that the American Station Chief in Berlin was summarily thrown out of Germany because he/she was running human assets right in the middle of the German Ministry of Defense.  In my world,  that is the equivalent of hitting a home run with bases loaded!

Why?

German intelligence has always been a problem for the USA  since WWII.

Contrary to the admirable Angela Merkel’s disingenuous protests that ‘friends don’t spy on friends’,  she knows all too well that had the CIA and other USG intel organizations not spied on Germany qua West and East Germany, she, Angela Merkel,  born in East Germany of an activist Lutheran Minister father,  would have never ended up as the future Prime Minister of a United Germany!

Some background….
Many of you know about Operations Paperclip where US intel Officers in the OSS (precursor to the CIA) brought over prominent Nazi scientists like Werner von Braun to enlighten us on the merits of the V2 rockets when not aimed at London.  The U.S. helped to create a West German Intelligence system based on ex-Nazi,  Abwehr intelligence officers.  Despite our penetration of the formidable German system,  the greatest intelligence obstacles that I and many others in five American administrations had to deal with was East Germany’s Stasi,  operated by the Master Spy—Markus Wolfe.  From the 1950’s through the 1990’s he was the spy of all spies.

Wolfe ran a Romeo Operation through West German intelligence where East German Operatives seduced the female and male secretaries in West German intelligence.  So  anytime we were supposed to debrief the West Germans, we knew that it went to Marcus Wolfe and then straight to Moscow.   Clearly,  you can ascertain my hidden admiration for this Spy Master,  personally chosen by Stalin to oversee approximately over 100, 000 official and non-official spies in East Germany. 

When Bush Sr/Baker brought East and West Germany together [a geopolitical phenomena for which neither man received the deserved credit],  they had to ignore or exclude the thousands of East German citizens that had worked ‘officially‘ or ‘unofficially’ for Stasi.   This exculpation of guilt for collaboration was not new.  The Americans had done the same thing with the countless number of French Collaborators who had worked for and with the Nazis in WWII.  The numbers were so great that there would have been a major discontinuity in the evolution of post WWII democracy in France and Germany.

So Angela Merkel is clearly no ‘ANGEL’ when it comes to intelligence or spying on us or on the Russians,  French and other EU countries.

She has no choice.

Germany is now at a strategic point of ‘breaking out of the EU’ so it must balance it’s relationship with Russia from which it receives most of its gas and the USA which is the de facto military/political guarantor of Germany’s sovereignty.   In the words of my favorite Polish Bolshevik,  Felix Dzerzhinsky,  father of the Cheka,  predecessor of the NKVD, and the infamous KGB:
“Trust is good. But control is better!”

In the world of intelligence and geopolitical strategic interests,  Americans have no friends and no enemies.  What we have are “INTERESTS”.   That means if Germany is courting Russia while at the same time ‘screwing over’ France;  we Americans want to know –What? How? Why? When? Where? and How Much? 

Without answers to these questions,  we Americans can never be certain of where our real allies or interests and counter-forces may lay.  And nothing irritates or exacerbates an intelligence officer or community more than the fact that ‘they don’t know’ or ‘there are no human assets on the ground’.

I have fired plenty of intel officers and transferred more Station Chiefs over my thirty year career in the State Department.   Intelligence is to the policy maker and operational officer what X-rays are to the surgeon before an operation.   The doctor never wants to go into a bloody situation without some inkling of what, why, when or where.  If the patient dies and the operation is a success… in my world of intelligence…. that is still a success.

So congratulations to the weather beaten CIA whom I have mercilessly attacked over the years for a job well done!

A little advice from an old pro:  Next time,  try to get PNG’d out of Germany.  That’s the gold standard for intel excellence!  Labeled as PERSONA NON GRATA!  I have been there so many times that I was shocked when the Syrians and Iranians allowed me to enter their respective countries.  However, Thailand was right on the ball!  I was PNGd there, when I was a mere civilian. 

Memo to ex-CIA Station Chief:  take a break and do what all the other CIA operatives do—write a Book!  Make a movie!  HBO and Netflix are looking for new content!

Repetition Compulsion—IDF Intelligence Failure vs Syrian/Iran Rockets Delivered through Sudan, Qatar, Gaza and Egypt to Hamas!!

Major Israeli/Bibi Intelligence Failure---Once Again!

How many more Israeli Reservists must die for another Bibi Failure like 2012 Operation Pillar to eliminate Hamas Rockets?  For the past week,  the world has once again witnessed the perverse kabuki of IDF forces retaliating against Hamas rockets,  this time targeting Tel Aviv,  Haifa,  Hadera and Hof HaCarmel.  How did this happen and why?
First, let me say,  that I am intimately familiar with the modest genius Uzi Rubin who had the foresight, wisdom and chutzpah to create the “Iron Dome” that is protecting Israelis from the horrible consequences of actual rocket attacks.  The country would have been strewn with carnage far beyond anyone’s imagination had Uzi not convinced the Israeli political/military leadership decades ago to develop the “Iron Dome” to protect the country from foreseeable destruction.  At the time of his inchoate suggestion,  most of the Israeli leadership could not take Uzi’s ideas and plans very seriously.   Yet,  Uzi persisted and today,  most Israelis are safe because of the courage and foresight of this modest Sabrah who not only fought bravely on the Golan Heights but had the intellectual skill and vision to prepare his homeland,  Eretz Israel from future attacks.

I bring up his name because Uzi has always represented to me the best of Israel.  He was born in Palestine at a famous settlement that his illustrious family had founded in Gedera, one of the original Zionist settlements before the state was created.  He,  like many of us,  grew up a Likudnik,  believing and following the precepts of Menachem Begin and Ze’ev Jabotinsky.  But over time,  Uzi had become one of the more brilliant scientists/operators in the Israeli Defense Establishment,  sublimating his talents into productive defensive strategic operational systems.

Uzi,  like many who had participated in terrorist acts as well as wars,  understood that in order for Israel to survive as a mature country it needed ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking in war as well as in peace.  Too bad Israel in total did not follow his course of transformation from warrior /operator to technical genius dedicated to the well-being of his homeland. 

Israel has transformed itself over sixty years from a Polish-inspired dream of a few Zionists into a Hi Tech Phenomena,  admired all over the world for its’ scientific innovations and humane contributions to the health care field.  Unfortunately,  the Israeli leadership failed to transform it’s old shetl ways of infighting,  bickering, manipulations and deceit into a mature establishment where transition of elite power could be implemented without going to war against one another or a surrounding Arab country.

It was no accident that the father of the Likud/Herut parties and the model of terrorists around the Arab world—Menachem Begun, Leader of the Irgun Zve Leumi—was the first Prime Minister to accept President Jimmy Carter’s Camp David Peace Accords.  With the encouragement of the brilliantly, talented one-eyed icon of Israeli military might—Gen. Moshe Dayan--- a peace treaty was implemented in which another terrorist—Awar Sadat—garnered peace for close to four decades.

Nor was it an accident that the mercurial,  manipulative, blustering, self-aggrandizing  Gen Ariel Sharon [Arik] singlehandedly ordered the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the west bank after having sacrificed his life and the countless thousands of Israeli soldiers lives to attain military victories in the Six Day War and Yom Kippur War.

What am I getting at?
These unusual warriors understood that war and military retaliations all had a very limited value.

 As Arik once said: ”It is impossible to have a JEWISH, DEMOCRATIC  STATE and AT THE SAME TIME CONTROL ALL OF ERETZ ISRAEL”. [my emphasis].

But he added these prophetic words:

“IF WE INSIST ON FULFILLING THE DREAM IN ITS ENTIRETY…. WE ARE LIABLE TO LOSE IT ALL!” 

Back to my basic point about the IDF vs Hamas psychological warfare.  The crux of Israel’s viability as a state is INTELLIGENCE.   If the intelligence is poor in any  particular area then the leaders of the country will rely on their innate instincts based on hubris,  ignorance and worn weary habits of RETALIATION against the perceived enemy.

Why do I say perceived enemy?
Hamas was and is a complete creation of the IDF,  Shin Bet, Mossad.  When I was working on the West Bank in the late 1980’s for the State Dept with PLO physicians who were detained by the IDF with a British contrived nonsense called “preventive detention”,  I was informed correctly that Shin Bet had created Hamas in Beir Zet in the Gaza as a counter-force for the PLO.

That was part and parcel of the Game of Terrorism.  We,  Americans created AL Qaeda then Haqqani et al. –all of which we are now trying to destroy.  Like many western countries including the USA,  Israel created Hamas as a strategic tension point to the PLO who were eventually driven out of Jordan by the Hashemite King Hussein into Lebanon.

Once Hamas became active and effectively neutralized the PLO,  it turned against it’s creator  the Israelis just like Frankenstein.

At one time,  the Israelis maintained a very effective and ruthless Intelligence Corp to monitor this “Franken-Terrorist Group”.  However,  over time,  as I had warned both the Israelis and the Americans;  Israel had lost its INTELLIGENCE FORTE.

The reason was quite simple.

As Israel became increasingly more prosperous,  thanks to the young geniuses creating start-ups and invaluable hi tech companies,  the smarter and more creative individuals refused to enter the intelligence community,  preferring to make a fortune with their expertise in the hi tech arena.  In reality,  Israel’s success as a HI TECH NATION HAS LED IT INTO A CONUNDRUM OF A FAULTY INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY AND AN EXCEEDINGLY  VULNERABLE ARMY,  CONSISTING MAINLY OF RESERVISTS WHO REALLY DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT ANY MORE WARS……

Today, Israel suffers from the “FAILURE OF SUCCESS”—as I have termed their maturation and vulnerability.

What can be done now? 

[1]  Dismiss all of the present intelligence directors of Mossad,  Shin Bet,  Zahal, et al.  New ideas require new, fresh blood.

[2]  Bibi must resign now or soon.  He is not really a Sabrah.  He is the story of boy who rode on his brother’s heroism [Entebbe Raid]; grew up in Pennsylvania; scion of an arrogant, obtuse Cornell Teacher [I knew him there].

[3] The mothers of IDF soldiers must go to the ministry and demand a DECLARATION of PEACE with all parties ---including Hamas.  The mothers of IDF soldiers were instrumental in making peace with HEZBOLLAH,  a far more formidable group than Hamas.

[4] Israel should become the KEYSTONE of TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT in the Middle East—and share their technological know-how with Egypt, PLO, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Iran et al.

[5] Israel cannot and should not DEPEND ON THE USA.  It has to learn that the American people are tired of fostering an artificial dependency with a country that should have matured a long time ago.

[6] Israel should forget the meaningless blustering rhetoric of the neocon Jews—Dennis Ross,  Doug Feith,  David Wormser,  Martin Indyk [Australian intel operative and Ross henchman],  Elliot Abrams,  Richard Haas, Paul Wolfowitz.  They have created more disasters in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. 

[7] Remember the Hebrew “CONCEPTZIYA”--- word coined after the Yom Kippur War in 1973, ‘to describe the BLIND ARROGANCE ‘ of invincibility.  

As the former Scientist/President of Israel, Ephraim Katzir said, ”The hubris broadcast by the Labor Govt reflected the CORRUPTION OF THE NATIONAL ETHOS by DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR in the wake of 1967 conquests.” [Landau].

I have personally and professionally worked with Sadat, Menachem Begun,  Yitzhak Rabin,  Shamir,  Arafat, and many other operatives in the Middle East.  If in thirty years,  the Soviet Union could be transformed into a Russian Federation without war; and  China could transform from a inefficient Communist/Maoist State into a thriving economic juggernaut; and Apartheid could be destroyed….. Please don’t tell me that ISRAEL cannot make peace with all of it’s neighbors! Even Hamas!!

What a shame on the Jewish People that we could create a state from nothing but sand, malaria and flies and then transform it back into a desolate state of carnage because we were too ‘stiff necked’ to bow our heads and extend our hands out in the gesture of peace and mutual trust.

It takes a very intelligent individual to understand that peace allows the national character of a state to evolve into a mature entity.  Paranoia, fear, mistrust, arrogance are all the characteristics of IMMATURITY,  INSOLENCE and…. SADLY BUT PROPHETICALLY …..SELF-DESTRUCTION!!!

If one Israeli soldiers enters into Gaza and tries to strip Hamas of their rockets,  then Tel Aviv, Haifa, and then all of the Israeli cities will be set ablaze with the absolute precision of suicide bombers and terrorist tactics.  Of that I am 100 % certain!
It’s up to you now, Israelis!
Peace? Or Self-Destruction! Your EXISTENTIAL CHOICE!!
And please don’t blame Obama, America, or anyone else!
It’s now up to the JEWISH PEOPLE of the JEWISH STATE!!!
