James Comey, The Director of The FBI, May Determine The Future of This Republic!
Very rarely in the history of any nation, does one individual determine the future of a country. In Leo Tolstoy’s brilliant novel, War and Peace, the author argues that the winds of war are created by an amalgam of different factors. I believe that great history is made by great men/women. In examining the chessboard of American History, one can say that certain periods of time were destined by the actions of one; or even a few men—rightfully or wrongfully. Truman marked the beginning of an era when he dropped the atomic bomb. Eisenhower pulled us out of the Korean War and prevented us from going to war in Vietnam. LBJ/JFK brought us into the useless, expensive Vietnam War.

You get the idea.

Now, as I look over the 2016 election prospects, I realize that neither Trump nor Hillary, inter alia, will delineate the truthful outcome of the election. Allow me to do what I have done countless times in both psychiatry and intelligence—deconstruct the complex problem/issue to one simple factor. In this case, I believe that the entire outcome of our 2016 Presidential Race will be determined by the FBI’s present criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private emails.

Did or did she not violate our national security laws?

Did she lie under oath to federal officials?

The FBI has to determine whether a federal crime was or was not committed by Hillary Clinton. That is not a hard problem to solve. However, there is a conundrum in this seemingly simple resolution. Can James Comey, the Director of the FBI, who once stood up to Bush Jr, be able to defy Obama’s flippant, inappropriate comments regarding “Hillary’s alleged criminal behavior” [She did it. But, she did not violate national security.] For me, the issue is simple and it concerns the integrity of our FBI.

POTUS has played many mind games with the American Public; as have both of his predecessors, Clinton and Bush Jr. Our Republic is corrupt and deteriorating by the day. Citizens have no faith in our White House and its minions. Citizens have no faith in our highly decorated mercenaries who insist they are our nation’s finest military. Citizens have no faith in our intelligence community which was/ is co-opted by the WH. 

I do not expect the Secret Service, which is beholden to the Emperors for their jobs[as exempted Pinkerton Agents], to preserve the integrity of our Republic. Their unholy secrets garnered at the expense of many American deaths, here and abroad, could have prevented the travesty of a Bush/Cheney 9/11 and wasteful Iraq/Afghanistan Wars.

It is now up to the once tainted FBI which, in the past, had miscreant leaders -- Hoover; Mueller; Freeh; etc.—to determine whether they can be free of Caesar’s bloodied hands. I rely on James Comey who defied one Emperor and refused to do his bidding [Bush Jr]. 

As a concerned citizen, I will ask James Comey if he is free to decide the fate of our nation? Or will the FBI continue to be used as a tool by some foolish federal prosecutor to harass political enemies of those in power?  I have my own personal example of such harassment (remember: the FBI served me w/ a subpoena a few years ago for something that happened 30 years prior when I was a military officer and government official). 

Yet, I am an optimist by nature; otherwise, I could not get up every morning and concern myself with the state of our Republic. I am hoping for the best: this flagrant political/financial corruption will be punished to the full extent of the law.

Is that true, James?

“Legend” A British Film-Noire about the Kray Twins of London

Tom Hardy, the Lead Actor,  plays both brothers Brilliantly.

“Legend”, written/directed by the American writer Brian Helgeland [L.A. Confidential], explores the depravity and sadism binding the East London twins, Reggie and Ronald Kray, as they assume control of the crime establishment extant in London during the 1960’s. At first, the film’s dialogue was hard to understand because the cockney accents that pervade the different scenes are quite foreign to my ear. However, once I became attuned to the specific rhythms of the underlying dialogue, I found that the script written by Brian Helgeland had some real pearls of insight.

“Aristocrats and gangsters are both narcissists and enjoy flouting the mores of the middle class bourgeoisie; both have immense access to ill-gotten gains.”

Yet the piece de resistance, that makes this difficult movie worth watching is the outstanding acting by Tom Hardy. He plays two completely different personalities brilliantly. On the one hand, Tom plays Reggie Kray, a highly sadistic thug who delights in beating up his victims; while, at the same time, trying to reign in his ostensibly paranoid schizophrenic twin, Ronald [also played Hardy]. The two simultaneous portraits of one seemingly sane gangster alongside his more psychotic twin, makes for a highly textured and nerve-wracking confrontation. Both Helgeland [the director] and Hardy [the actor] have to be highly commended for breaking the predictable stereotype of sanity and insanity. “Legend” details, in a variety of scenes, the insipid decadence of London’s elites as reflected in their homosexual encounters with the schizophrenic twin, Ronald Kray and his boy-toys. I could not help comparing this film to the one entitled, “Dead Ringers”; where Jeremy Irons plays the role of two sadistic twin brothers [gynecologists];  who eventually die in each other’s arms.

The acting, across the board, was quite impressive. Emily Browning played the role of the Reggie’s wife who finally commits suicide after having tried to stop her husband’s obsession with his being a gangster. David Thewlis, the ubiquitous British actor, tries to add moments of reality testing into the twins’ lives as he witnesses their inability to stop themselves from destroying a successful Meyer Lansky-inspired casino business in London.

What makes this film unusual is the fact that beneath the guttural sounds of the cockney accents is an incredible repartee of insights and observations which makes one wonder: who is really the psychotic one in the film –Reggie, Ronald or society in general? As one might suspect, schizophrenics may be crazy but they are not stupid [as I was once told].

I would recommend this film for those of us who have the endurance and patience to watch a brilliant actor, Tom Hardy, weigh through a complicated and highly textured movie that has to be seen more than once in order to truly savor the nuances of depravity in post WWII London. Sometimes movies are made to enlighten not only to entertain.

“Legend” is one of those films that may attain a cult following many years later. For the present time, the film deserves some serious attention.

Tom Hardy should certainly be considered for the best actor award of 2015.

Also, I congratulate the talented writer/director, Brian Helgeland, for a difficult job…. well done. 

Turkish Shish Kebab-Dangerous When on Fire!
Erdogan, once again, made a serious mistake when he shot down that Russian plane. By now, everyone in the world has an opinion regarding Turkey’s shooting down of a Russian jet plane that spent 17 SECONDS over Turkish territory. For years, I have been writing unflattering blogs about the boorish, hot-tempered Sunni Muslim Turkish leader, Erdogan, who brought Islamic Extremism back to Turkey. Now, I have to say that this ruthless street urchin, who was once an effective mayor of Istanbul, emerges as the key figure in creating ISIS and maintaining its coherence with the approval of the USA.

From the very beginning of the so-called creation of ISIS, Erdogan was allowing extremist muslims to join a group of the “fighting rag-heads” in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. He wanted to create a geopolitical counterforce to Iran’s support for Dr. Bashar al Assad and his Shi’ite supporters—Hezbollah, Iran, and Russia. Additionally, the ineffectual US military has outsourced this contrived war to mercenaries from all over the world to ensure that none of our political generals appear incompetent as they have been wont to do since Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen; et.al.

Our Sunni allies—Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and most importantly, Turkey—have funded and trained the myriad of so-called ‘Islamic Extremists’ and then sent them into Iraq/Syria where they became our proxies fighting against our true allies –Russia, Assad, Hezbollah— the Shi’ites; who never even attacked America during the 9/11 stand –down/false-flag. This recent attack on a Russian Jet over Turkish territory is a sham excuse for protecting Turkish proxies like the Turkmen who really fight on behalf of Erdogan.

Frankly, I am glad that Russia cut off the gas that it provides to Turkey as an indication of their disappointment with Erdogan. At least for a few days, the Turkish people will learn an important lesson. They will start to understand that they cannot cook their famous shish kebab dish without Russian gas. More importantly, Assad and Russia have protected the remaining Christians who are left in that chaotic region; thanks to the indifference of the major Christian denominations around the world who were warned by me and others that their brethren would be slaughtered. Like the Jewish Holocaust no one believed that might be possible.

Now the Russians and the Shi’ites Muslims must take up the mantle of defense where once, America, had ventured forward. American citizens have become laggards with our inability to stop our political elite from finding excuses for creating wars. Similarly, Turkey is also in the business of supporting ISIS so that there is a perceived enemy against which we can rail against.

Erdogan resumed power after he had mercilessly killed Kurds in his country who had won the previous elections running against him. Erdogan is not a man to be trusted or empowered. If our generals/diplomats think that they can control him, I would venture to say that they are delusional. Turkey will continue to fight the Russians because that’s what Erdogan wants.

What Ataturk, the father of modern Turkey had created, Erdogan will destroy, of this I am certain. The only question is will America get burned catching this flaming shish kebab? Ask Putin. The Russians have a way of terminating noisome problems, once and for all.

The Crucial Importance of Inspector Generals in the Obama Administration but They Are Being Eviscerated!

A recent article in the NYTimes, “Tighter Lid on Records Threatens to Weaken Government Watchdogs”, by Eric Lichtblau [Nov.27, 2015] examines the serious problem of how the Obama Administration which espouses “transparency” has made certain that the inspector generals in every federal agency have no real power. In every federal bureaucracy there is a division of inspector generals who have been assigned the specific duty of monitoring the activities of that particular agency to ensure that they are complying within the law; as well as that the stipulated functions are being implemented according to the prescribed mandates.

It turns out that Eric Lichtblau, the journalist, has uncovered a pattern of miscreant behavior beginning with the Drug Enforcement Agency [DEA] leading to the august Department of Justice [DOJ] and the FBI; where powers of the inspector general have been seriously curtailed by the Obama Administration. Obama created an artificial  expectation where “Transparency” would be the keystone of his two administrations when in reality, he made certain that the access by journalists and inspector generals have been seriously curtailed. No explanations or rationalizations are even offered. So necessary information required to make an independent assessment by an outside party has been at best restricted; and at worse, refused.

Obama and his political minions have started on a course of information censorship which has become the vouchsafe of his tenure as POTUS. No one within the administration or outside the closely knit WH clique really has full access to any narrative which may contain the truth or any semblance to reality. Obama has effectively implemented an administration where fiction and distortion of the truth become the paramount achievements of his tenure.

Witness the recent book, No One Died At Sandy Hook by James Fetzer, a highly dedicated investigator who found himself banned from releasing the book at Amazon.com for some absurd, nonsensical, arbitrary reason. The book categorically states what I and a multitude of other ‘truthers’ have said from the beginning: what Connecticut Officials/State Police stated about countless children dying in a shoot-out by Adam Lanza, an Asperger’s shooting maven, was completely false. I and a multitude of others investigators went so far as to implicate Obama and his judicial field hand –Eric Holder –for disseminating lies and creating a ‘stand down’ which at it’s core was criminal and self-indicting. The FBI 2012 reports corroborated our conclusions; as did the inspector generals’ reports in DOJ. Yet Obama continued on his escapade of lies right up to the Osama bin Laden raid and the creation of the CIA manufactured terrorism of al Qaeda and ISIS.

Now Americans have been deprived of any legitimate means of monitoring a mendacious, incompetent POTUS, who believes that he belongs to the pantheon of the untouchables, surrounded by the wily, corrupt Secret Service whose loyalty always remains circumspect and questionable [in light of prostitution and drug charges]. 

It’s time to insist that our legislative representatives demand further transparency through real oversight or we, blinded citizens will stumble through the dark ages of lies and invest ourselves with the resolves to protect those of us who are threatened by the Administration by any means possible.

Truth and integrity have fallen by the wayside of mendacity and Machiavellian guile. Even our feminized military leadership has failed to protect us both internally or externally— incompetency, lassitude, and greed reeks through their senior ranks.

Americans can and must fight for our constitutional right to know what the servants of the state, POTUS and others, are doing with our taxpayer dollars [creating unnecessary wars while trying to mandate gun control]. We cannot wait one more year to tolerate the absurdities of a man whose credibility and integrity is completely shattered by falsified records, false flags, stand downs; as well as, the elimination of our guardians of bureaucratic oversight [the inspector general’s]

There is an old Malayan proverb that goes something like this:

“Don’t think there are no crocodiles because the water is calm.”
