Here is a video link to Charlotte Iserbyt "The Deliberate Dumbing Down..."  watch it  to learn some history of education.  You will need 1 hour but its worth it if you have kids or grandchildren.  Thanks heyhey!

  1. The American Dream. George Carlin.

    1. This whole debate about schools in America is crap. All American schools teach the same rotten garbage of geometry, algebra, diagraming sentences, and other shit that has nothing to do with anything. It's all crap. I mean English literature! What a bunch of shit.

When you go to University you find out that what you
really needed was geography, economics, history, mathmatics, chemistry, physics, and law......

Even the best schools in the U.S. teach crap and the reasons why some students do well in University and others drop out of high school has nothing to do with what's taught in the has only to do with the motivations of the individual.

We should be spending less money and attention on schools.

    2. When most "just talk about something " MITmichael "says something " WELCOME BACK MIT : ) Was going thru MIT withdrawals… (Patriarch happy belated birthday…better set your pacemaker switch to high ! )

    3. Mit I thought you had run off with Mary Katherine Ham (aka MKHammer) and were "busy" creating the Uber race.

    4. I do know a few english majors who went to a private university who are working off their $80,000.00 student loans as baristas at the local Starbucks for $8 an hour. So much for "following your dream ". And I thought books and tuition were expensive when I went to university. I think student loans are what is driving up the costs. Imagine if you have a GAURANTEED PAYOR (THE GOVERNMENT) then what the hell do you expect the schools to do but CAPITALIZE on the misfortune of the poor students plight, all while these universities are sitting on hundreds of millions of dollars of endowments they barely touch. They may as well wear a mask and ask the students to "put their arms in the air". Tuition has far outpaced inflation. I sincerely think this SHIT policy should change as well as the curriculum if America is to compete in the global marketplace through the 21st century.

    5. There are some great articles on the internet about becoming a doctor entitled "The One Million Dollar Mistake". When taking into account years of lost income, tuition, books, long underpaid shifts, many say they wouldn't do it again.

    6. First,

Employers should hire new people based only on their acedemic achievement in whatever field they chose...and their IQ....and then TRAIN THEM for whatever particular stupid function their stupid business needs.

I'd rather have an English major with an IQ of 140 who I can train to be a great problem solver then a business major with an IQ of 100 who is already trained.

All the public Universities need to reduce their tuitions to what they were in the 1960s, and pay for it by ending all law enforcement efforts against narcotics and drugs.

The only reason why the states have reduced their spending on higher education is because they are spending more on Medicaid and narcotics enforcement since the 1970s.

      Nuff said.

Great interview .This guy seems to know a lot about this stuff. I'm surprised he doesn't know about the NSA base on River Rd. down the street from sandy hook.
